Yes. Legends Warbird Rides operates FAA-authorized passenger-carrying warbird flights. The aircraft is professionally maintained and flown regularly, and flights are conducted conservatively with safety as the top priority.
No experience is required. Flights are tailored to your comfort level, whether this is your first time in a small airplane or you’re an experienced pilot. You can be as hands-on or hands-off as you like.
Yes. Once airborne, you’ll have the opportunity to take the controls if you want to. If you prefer to sit back and enjoy the flight, that’s perfectly fine. During aerobatics, the pilot does all of the flying.
Air sickness is uncommon in the T-6, especially on non-aerobatic flights. Aerobatics are optional and always adjusted to your comfort level. An air sickness bag is provided just in case.
No. Aerobatics are optional and only included with flights that offer them. Even then, maneuvers are discussed beforehand and can be adjusted, limited, or skipped entirely based on your preference.
T-6 aerobatics are large, smooth, and graceful rather than abrupt. Maneuvers may include loops, rolls, wingovers, and Cuban 8s, depending on conditions and your comfort level.
Cockpit and wingtip video is typically included when available and provided after the flight.
Flight time depends on the experience you choose and is measured wheels-up to touchdown. Options range from approximately 20 minutes to one hour.
Dress comfortably for the season. Summer flights can be warm in the cockpit, so light clothing is recommended. Winter flights may be cooler, so a light jacket works well. Please wear close-toed shoes. Sunglasses are helpful.
Yes. A Bose A20 noise-canceling headset is provided. You’re welcome to bring your own standard dual-plug aviation headset if you prefer.
Yes. You may bring a camera or phone, but you must be able to maintain control of it at all times. Neck straps are strongly recommended. Long lenses are not allowed due to the risk of scratching the canopy. Dropped items cannot be retrieved until after landing.
Yes. The T-6 has a roomy rear cockpit, and the seat height is adjustable. Despite being a WWII-era aircraft, most passengers are pleasantly surprised by the space and comfort.
Passengers generally must weigh 300 pounds or less. Weight and balance limits apply for all flights.
Passengers must be able to climb onto the wing, step into the cockpit, and exit the aircraft unassisted. You must also be able to open the canopy from inside the cockpit.
Passengers must be at least 12 years old. All passengers must sign an assumption of risk waiver prior to flight. Passengers under 18 require a parent or legal guardian’s signature.
Yes. Friends and family are welcome. They can watch engine start, taxi, takeoff, and landing from the ramp. During the flight, guests may wait inside the Lux Air Jet Centers lounge. Photos are welcome before and after the flight.
Please arrive at the airport at least 15 minutes before your scheduled flight time. Flights are often booked back-to-back.
After turning into the airport from Litchfield Road, drive to the end of West Goodyear Parkway. Parking is available at Lux Air Jet Centers or the terminal parking lot. Your pilot will meet you inside the Lux Air Jet Centers building.
Flights are weather-dependent. If conditions are unsafe or would result in a poor experience, your pilot may cancel, modify, or shorten the flight. Weather-related cancellations will be rescheduled for the next available date.
Yes. If you need to reschedule, please contact us as early as possible. Availability is limited.
